James Courtwright McKinley, Jr. is an American journalist who has been the Mexico City bureau chief of The New York Times since 2006.
Personal
McKinley is a son of James C. McKinley, a retired professor and former editor of New Times magazine, and Mary Ann McKinley.
Jesse McKinley, one of McKinley's brothers, is the San Francisco bureau chief of the Times.
McKinley is a 1984 graduate of Cornell University.
